Accessing File Manager

Enter cPanel, click on corresponding icon in Files section for accessing File manager.

Create a new folder

Step 4: Search for the first file for uploading and Double click it. Thus, upload will start immediately.

Step 5: Repeat all above mentioned steps for uploading each file.

Step 6: Click on Overwrite existing files and check box if you want to overwrite on old files with the same name.

You can download files from the server to your personal computer with the help of Download Button.

You can copy the files and move files between the account’s folders via Copy and Move File functions. You can also rename and Delete existing files via respective icons.

Creating a new file

Small files can be easily created online but difficult to create on your home computer. For creating a new file please follow the steps mentioned below:

To create a new file please follow the steps listed below:

Step 1: Click on the option New File link.

Step 2: Enter the name of the file which has to be created and add the correct extension. For example the extension will be .pl. if you want to create a Perl file,

Step 3: Select the destination where you want to save the file and click on the Create New File button. The file will be created immediately.

Edit a file

Editing an existing file via File Manager allows you to perform instant modification to your web site without uploading a new version of the file. This can be done easily for making small changes but would be ineffective for large alterations.

For Editing, please follow the following steps:

Step 1: Locate the folder where the file is located.

Step 2: Click on the file name.

Step 3: Click on the Edit link Located at the top menu of your window. The new window will open displaying the content of the file.

Step 4: Alter the file text.

Step 5: Once have completed all the process, Click on the Save Changes, the file will be saved and will make the changes.

You can use Code Editor and the HTML Editor as they are more sophisticated editors. Click on View link in the File Manager located on main menu. The file will be open where you can read only and cannot perform any editing work.

 

Extracting or compressing a file
