Setting up Default Email Address

Default or catch all email address is the address to wish all emails are routed to a non available email id or mistakenly entered email account.  For e.g. someone sends email at info@yourdomain .com and you don’t have such an account, and then catch all option will forward this message to default email address. Step 1: Click on Default Address icon located at main screen of cPanel interface, on the section of Mails, to access auto responders menu.

Step 2: Select the sub domain, which you would like to set up a default address, from the drop down menu.

Step 3: Now you can select from the given option.

  • Type in the blank space provided for address, if you want to forward all unrouted mail to an email address
  • Type the message that will be sent to senders, if you want to discard all unrouted mails with an error to senders.
  • You can also discard all the unrouted mail from the advanced options, forward it to system account or pipe it to a program.

Step 4: Click on change button to apply settings.

Keep on checking default mails from time to time to ensure that it may not get filled with necessary or unnecessary mails. We provide website hosting india
