Configuring Email Clients

To configure your Webmail you can employ either webmail interface or an email client. Check Inway Hosting Tutorial for using Link cPanel webmail. It depends on you which email client you want to use such as Microsoft Outlook Express, MS Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird and Eudora, there settings are given below:

Incoming mail server (POP3/IMAP server): mail.yourdomainname.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP server): mail.yourdomainname.com
username should be full email address. For e.g. you@yourdomainname.com instead of you

Password is assigned on Email accounts located at cPanel.

To login successfully, SMTP authentication must be enabled.

If the domain is pointed towards external server and MX record is the only resolution to Inway Hosting server then for the Incoming/ Outgoing mail server use server name.

For your mail server use your secure authentication.

What do you mean by IMAP?

A mail protocol which allows access of emails on a remote web server from a local client is known as IMAP (Internet message Access Protocol). The most common Internet mail protocols used for retrieving emails are – IMAP and POP3. Both the protocols are supported by all modern email clients and web servers.

Difference between IMAP and POP3:

IMAP Protocol permits instantaneous access to multiple clients, whereas POP3 allows connection to only one client at a time. If you have to manage your mail box to multiple users you can use IMAP.

What do you mean by SMTP?

A standard protocol used for sending emails across internet is known as SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).  It uses TCP port 25 or 2525 and at times you face difficulty to send your message if your ISP port is 25(Now How we can check whether port 25 is open or not?). For a given domain name, if you have to determine SMTP server, use MX (Mail exchange) DNS record. We provide best web hosting india
